2023 NFL Draft: Christian Gonzalez - Oregon Cornerback

Image
Christian Gonzalez - Oregon Strengths: 1.  Route Accel/Decel -  Gonzalez can stick with receivers through varying speeds along the route stem, which shows the fluidity in which he plays. Few of the other top corners in this class can do this with his effectiveness. 2.  Quick Pivots -  He has excellent change of direction on quick pivots. His burst out of his pivot step is incredible with good technique, body angles, and footwork. He is a fluid mover who can match receivers down the field as well as underneath. 3.  Versatility  -  Gonzalez plays at a high level from the slot and out wide in both zone and man coverage. Weaknesses: 1.  Line Contact  -  While he may have great balance through contact, he does not redirect receivers often with physicality. He uses positioning well, but prefers soft press where he does not jam or make immediate contact. 2.  Opposing False Steps -  Gonzalez will put weight into his step when buying in...

2023 NFL Draft - Edge Rankings

Image
The 2023 Edge class is absolutely stacked. It has high-end prospects as well as great depth heading into the later rounds. With so many prospects getting first round hype, it is time to dive deep and see which of the bunch really are going to be studs at the next level. Below are my pre-combine/senior bowl edge rankings. Ojulari I will address the two prospects that deviate the most from consen...

2023 NFL Draft: Zach Harrison - Ohio State Defensive End

Image
Zach Harrison - Ohio State Strengths: 1.  Measurables  -  This man stands at 6'6" weighing in at 271lbs, and runs a 4.4 40-yard-dash. He has nearly a 40" vertical and 35.5" arms, with an 87" wingspan. There is no way Zach Harrison was not built in a lab with these physical traits that have rarely ever been seen before. 2.  Burst  -  His burst is serviceable, and could be a stronger part of his game if he can learn how to translate speed to power. He typically stands up after his first step, thus mitigating much of the initial power. 3.  Bull Rush Potential  -  There are instances throughout his tape where his bull rush is effective with high pad level, bent arms, and poor hand placement. Cleaning up his technique could result in an incredible power rusher. Weaknesses: 1.  Pad Level  -  Harrison stand tall immediately after the snap. He initiates contact upright, which does not allow him to use...
