Atlanta Falcons – Primed for Massive 2023 Leap

Image
Last May, I selected the Eagles  as my surprise team to not only win the division, but make a playoff run as well. It seems obvious now, but their odds to win the division were +240 with over/under of 8.5 wins back when I posted this in May. By September 1 st , the odds had risen to around +105 for them to win the NFC East with a win total of 9.5. If you want the best payout, you have to get in early. The pick for this year to crush their betting odds is the Atlanta Falcons. Currently, their win totals are resting around 8.0 with positive odds above 8.5. Their division odds are +260 on FanDuel, and occasionally even higher elsewhere. With the second easiest projected schedule in the league this upcoming year, unfortunately behind only the Saints, these betting odds are destined to become less favorable over the next few months. Offense The primary reason Atlanta is going to take a step forward this year is from their personnel improvements in combination with young sta...

2023 NFL Draft Top 50 Big Board

Image
After diving deep into the tape of this draft class, I am releasing my penultimate top 50 rankings before the 2023 NFL Draft. For each prospect, I have a brief summary of why they are ranked where they are, and a link to my raw original scouting reports (for all except quarterbacks and offensive linemen). You will notice that some of their given ranks and grades within the reports do not line up exactly where they fall within the top 50. This is mostly because the initial scouting reports are based solely on what I saw on tape. The off-season process has altered how I view some of the prospects. At the end of the board, I have the reasoning behind why a few select players typically seen inside the top 50 are excluded from this list. As of now, I am confident that these top 50 will not alter too significantly leading up to the 2023 NFL Draft. Top 50 Big Board        1.        Bryce Young – QB Young is small. I get it. He also has ...

Washington Commanders 2023 Off-Season Simulation

Image
The 2023 NFL Off-Season Simulation is finally coming to a close. After multiple months of trade talks among the other two-hundred or so people involved and negotiations with designated agents in free agency, the 90-man-rosters are now complete. I was once again the General Manager for the Washington Commanders this year, and decided to take this opportunity to see what it would be like to build around Sam Howell. Having a 2023 cap number of $960,400 allows the franchise to pay out some big contracts for at least the next three years assuming Howell works out. That said, nearly all of the external free agent contracts were one-year deals to hedge Sam Howell's promotion to starter. It is his job to lose, so all of our moves revolved around getting the best talent around him as humanly possible. So without further ado, let's jump right into it. Starting Point The initial roster began with 61 players, including the practice squad guys: While a bit rough around the edges, ther...
